February 26th: AcousticBrainz meetup at Trovit

We’ve recently gotten into the habit of hosting meetups in our lovely offices in Barcelona. It’s always an enriching experience, where we get the opportunity to meet and learn from developers and professionals from other companies in the Barcelona tech scene.

This next week we’re hosting our friends from AcousticBrainz: Xavier Serra (Universitat Pompeu Fabra) and Robert Kaye (MetaBrainz). Their project, which we’ll be hearing about in depth, analyzes songs’ metadata in order to establish comparisons with other songs, or, for example, predict which genre it belongs to. Their API is available to anyone who wants to use their data in order to create recommendation engines.

The meetup will kick off at 7pm on Thursday, February 26th at our office (map) and will include free beers (sponsored by the lovely people at Damm) and pizza. Feel free to join us (please RSVP)!
